The great Caldeirão, twin crater waters, and steep green cliffs above the Atlantic.
In history
The smallest island: one village, Vila do Corvo, and the great Caldeirão crater with its lakes. Fewer than five hundred people live here.
For centuries the corvinos lived almost alone at the edge of the Atlantic, with their own wooden door locks and their own cheese. Corvo has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2007.
